You don’t realize how much stuff you’ve accumulated in your pantry until you decide to use it all. We certainly take the mundane existence of our pantry for granted – consistently adding more and more non-perishables to our shopping carts without a thought about what we will *actually* do with those items because it’s on sale or we have a coupon. Yipee.
Well, we will be moving at the end of the year and I’m committed to not transporting any pantry items with us other than spices and seasonings. We began “Project Pantry” a few weeks ago and so far we’ve used 1 box of rice, 2 boxes of pasta (including lasagna which I finally made last night), 1 jar of tomato sauce and 2 small cans, 1 container of chocolate Slim Fast protein powder, and 3 remaining cans of Target brand ultra weight loss shake, and 1 gallon of water. Not bad!
I plan on creating a list all our pantry items and documenting what we’ve done with it. I think this will result in some creative meals, don’t you think?
